Family boards

A board for your family.

For a family that owns things together and decides across generations. The board keeps what the family agreed, prepares family meetings, and checks back on how decisions turned out.

Being built with our first firms. Offered by invitation.

Who it is for

  • Families that hold a business, property or money in common.
  • Parents who want the next generation to learn how the family decides, before they inherit.
  • Family offices that serve one family.

What it will do

  • Seat AI advisors for the decisions families face together: keeping or selling the family business, who runs it next, a parent's care, fair and equal between children.
  • Hold your family's written agreement: your values, what you hold together, how you decide and your goals. Each answer says which line it drew on. It is your family's own agreement, not a legal document; anything binding, such as a will or a trust, is for your lawyer.
  • Prepare family meetings, and draft the minutes for a steward to approve.
  • Keep the family's decisions, and check back on how each one turned out.
  • Show adult members of the next generation why the board said what it said. Every member of a family board is an adult.

Who owns it

The family owns its board, through stewards it names. No single person can lock the family out or take the board. What is asked on the family board is read by everyone on it; for a private question, each person has their own board.

Several boards, one login

One login will hold every board a person sits on: their own board, a company's board, a committee, a family board. A switcher at the top will move between them, the way you switch accounts in your email.

Each board keeps its own memory. Nothing moves from one board to another unless you copy it. Each board shows its name and its own colour, so you always know which room you are in.

Who owns a board follows what it is for: a person owns their own board, a company owns its business board, a family owns its family board.

Each person's own board stays private from the company, the family, the committee and the firm. Always.

Privacy options

  • Storage in the United States or in Switzerland, chosen board by board.
  • Your own key, so only you can unlock what is stored.
  • Deleting on a schedule you choose.
  • Internet lookups switched off.
  • A log of who opened what.
  • Two-step sign-in required for everyone on the board.
  • Your own servers or your own network, quoted for you.

We set these up with each customer. We will tell you which are ready when we talk.

It gets better with every decision

Your family's board will remember what you decided, check on the outcome, and use what it learns to sharpen your next decision.

Only anonymous scores, never your content; your documents stay on your board and never train anything.
