Your board remembers what you decided, and checks on the outcome.
Features

- Download everything, import it, and delete your accountDownload everything on your board at any time, load it back onto an empty board, or delete your account yourself. All three are in Settings.
- Getting started with AdvicitySign up, agree to the Terms, then ask your first question in your own words. Your board learns your North Star from it. Plus logging in and out.
- HelpAsk how Advicity works and get a short answer from the feature pages, with a link to each page it used. For logged-in members and visitors on the FAQ page.
- Install Advicity on your phonePut Advicity on your phone's home screen. It opens in one tap, in its own window, on the same account.
- Plans and switching plansPaper is free, Charcoal is $99 a month, Ink $249 and Brass $499. Move up or down any time; a plan change never deletes anything.
- The Board RoomA Board Room is a shared board for people who decide together: ask it together, save your decisions together, and keep your own board private.
- Your board and the built-in advisorsMeet the five built-in advisors for money, work, body, people and mind: what each helps you decide, and how each one answers.
- Your Chair and turning advisors on or offGive your Chair a name of your own, and turn any advisor off or back on. An advisor you turn off keeps everything it knows about you.
- Your North StarYour North Star is your goals, your values and how you like to make decisions. Your board answers from it and keeps every version word for word.
- Your past questionsEvery question you have asked your board, newest first, with each advisor's answer and the North Star lines it cited, to read again.

- Strategy sessionsFor a bigger decision, write the problem as it is, mess included. Your Chair asks a few questions, which you answer one at a time, and writes it back as one decision with its options, then your board answers and you go back and forth. When you are ready, the Chair drafts your decision, and you save it in one tap or edit it in your own words first.Plans: Ink, Brass. On Paper, your free monthly board meeting works the same way, once a month. Not in Board Rooms yet.
- Ask a follow-up on a decisionEvery decision you save has its own "Ask a follow-up" box, before, on or after its check-in date. Ask the whole board or one advisor who answered, and they read the whole decision and how it turned out. If it went badly, the answer to "what now?" can be saved as a new decision, linked to the first.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass. On Paper, a follow-up is answered by one advisor and counts as one of your questions for the month.
- Name your advisorsCall any built-in advisor by a name you choose, in Settings. Your board shows your name first and the advisor's own name beside it, so you always know who is answering. In a Board Room, everyone in the room sees the same name.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass, Board Room.
- Charged twice? Refunded automaticallyIf a second paid plan is ever started for you by mistake, Advicity cancels the second one and refunds what was paid for it in full. You do not have to ask.Plans: every paid plan (Ink, Brass).
- Always clear that your advisors are AIBefore your first question and above every answer, your board says: "Your advisors are AI, not people, and they can be wrong."Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Change your emailChange the email on your account in Settings. Advicity sends a link to your new address and one to your current address, and the change happens once both are pressed.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Light or DarkChoose Light, Dark or Match my device from your account menu. The choice is kept on that browser, so set it once on each device you use.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Question first, North Star laterYour board starts with what is on your mind, not a form. On your first question, when the answer depends on your goals, your Chair may ask one or two quick questions first, and you can skip them. Until you have a North Star, an answer that depends on your goals says what it assumed, so you can tell it if not.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Take it back to your boardAfter a check-in of Mixed, Didn't go well or Didn't follow it, your board asks what happened (optional) and offers "Ask my board". It opens a follow-up on that decision with what you decided, how it went and your note already written in, and your board reads the whole decision before it answers. The decision then shows the day you took it back to the board.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass. On Paper, it is answered by one advisor and counts as one of your questions for the month.
- Your North Star in detailYour North Star has three sections, Goals, Values and How you decide, and each holds as many lines as you like. A line can be a few words or as much detail as you want, and your board reads every word of it, with its section. You can move a line to another section when you rewrite it.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- The call firstAn answer opens on one call: what to do, how confident it is (never 5 of 5), who disagrees when an advisor does, what would change it, and your first step with the date to do it by. "Save this decision" is right under it. "See what each advisor said" shows each advisor's answer and what it drew from. While your board answers, the screen says "Your board is meeting".Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass. On Paper, the call is the one advisor's who answered, with no "Who disagrees".
- The Charcoal planA plan between Paper and Ink, at $99 a month. Ask as many questions as you like, each to the one advisor you choose, and meet your whole board once a week. Your board remembers the last 12 months and keeps up to 15 of your files or pasted texts.Plans: Charcoal, $99 a month. Paper, Ink and Brass are the other plans.
- What each answer drew onUnder each answer, one line says what it drew on: your North Star when it used a line of it, and each file by its name and the month you shared it. Tap the line to see the sentences from your board's notes on that file that the answer used. They are your board's notes in its own words, not the file: your board keeps what it learned from your files, not the files.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Founding MemberThe first 100 members who pay for a plan get a Founding Member mark on their board and in their account menu, for good. There will only ever be 100: a place is not given again, extended or sold, and the mark comes with no discount. Your plan shows your number, or how many places are left while any are.Plans: Every paid plan (Charcoal, Ink, Brass), counted from your first payment. It stays on any plan after that, Paper included.
- Your year in decisionsOne year after your first payment, the Chair of your board writes you a letter about that year: how many decisions you made, how many check-ins you answered, and what went well, in the words you recorded. It is written from your own record only, and only you can read it. We send one email to say it is ready.Plans: Every paid plan (Charcoal, Ink, Brass), one year after your first payment, while you still pay for a plan.
- Ask someone into a decisionOn any past question or saved decision, "Ask someone" emails the person you choose the words of that question or decision and your note, and nothing else from your board. They answer without an account, one question at a time: their view, how sure they are and why. Their answer joins your board for that question only, your Chair says where it agrees and differs with your advisors, and at your check-in you can let them know how it turned out.Plans: Paper: 1 person a month. Charcoal: 3 a month. Ink: 20 a month. Brass: 50 a month. Up to 5 people on any one decision.
- Your track record in your answersOnce you have checked in on at least 3 decisions, your advisors and your Chair can point to your own pattern when it bears on your question, such as how your decisions went when you were sure. Your board counts it from your own decisions only, never from anyone else's. Every check-in you answer makes the next answer better. When you ask about something like a decision you have already checked in on, the answer can also say how those decisions went and how sure you were.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass. On Paper, counted from your last 30 days.
- Your monthly board review30 days after you move to Brass, and every 30 days after, your Chair writes you a one-page review: the decisions you saved, the check-ins you answered, what went well, where you keep getting stuck, and one thing to try next month. It is in the app under Your decisions, and in your email.Plans: Brass.
- A note with your check-inWhen you check in on a decision, a box asks What happened? (optional) right beside the four answers, with Roughly how much did this save you? (optional) under it for hours and dollars in your own rough numbers, and the answer you choose saves them with it. The check-in email's answer links open the note box, and you can add or change the note and numbers later on the decision's own page. Your board reads them with that decision when it answers later questions, and no other member's advisor learns from them.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Listen to an answerTap Listen on an answer and your phone or computer reads it out loud: the call first, then what each advisor said. Tap Stop to end it. It uses the voice built into your phone or computer, so your answer is not sent anywhere to be read. Listen shows only where your browser can read out loud.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Send Help a question it missedWhen Help says the feature pages don't cover your question, or you tap "Didn't help", you can tick "Send this question to Advicity so we can improve help". It is never ticked for you, only that one question is sent, with nothing from your board, and it is deleted after 90 days.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Current facts, looked upWhen a question needs a current fact, such as a rate, a price, a rule or a company's recent news, your board looks it up on the web before it answers. Under the answer, "Looked up:" names each page it used, with the site and the date, and links to it. Your advisors check official sources first, like irs.gov or cdc.gov, and say which ones they used. The search is written without your name, your email, amounts of money or lines from your North Star, and Advicity checks every search for those before it is sent. The advice still comes from your North Star, your decisions and what you shared; the lookup only checks the facts.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass. On Paper, 3 lookups a day; on Charcoal, Ink and Brass, up to 50 a day.
- See what your board said on a decisionYour decisions lists each decision as one short line: the question, what you decided, and how it went or its check-in date. Open any decision, open or past, to see all of it. It shows the question, each advisor's answer and your Chair's summing-up. A decision saved from a board meeting or strategy session also shows the whole meeting, in order, with a link to it.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Your record so far, on Your boardOnce you have saved a decision, Your board shows your record so far in one line: decisions saved, check-ins answered and your next check-in date, with a link to Your decisions. Until you have checked in on 3 decisions, a line under it says how many are left before your board starts pointing to your own pattern. In your first two weeks, the line counts toward your first 3 saved decisions and your first check-in instead, and the record line takes its place once you reach them or after day 14.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Questions on PaperOn Paper you can ask 20 questions a month, and a follow-up on a decision counts as one of them. They come back on the 1st, in your time zone. Once you have used half of them, your home page shows how many are left this month.Plans: Paper. Charcoal, Ink and Brass have no limit on questions.
- One quick question firstWhen your question is missing one fact that would change the answer, such as whether a cost is one time or every month, your Chair asks one short question first, with answers you tap. "Just answer" is always there and sends your question as you asked it. Most questions are answered straight away. It is not asked on a follow-up or in a board meeting.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Your situation cardIn Settings, you can tell your board five things about you, each with a tap: the state you live in, your household, whether you run a business, where you are in your working life and your comfort with risk. All of them are optional. Every advisor reads them as plain facts, and answers for your state when a rule differs by state. Your board offers the card once after you write your North Star, and you can change or clear it in Settings at any time. It is never part of a web lookup.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Helpful, Missed the point, Too longUnder an advisor's answer, you can tap Helpful, Missed the point or Too long, once per answer. Your board learns how you like answers from your own taps only, such as short answers or answers with numbers, and every advisor reads that note. Settings shows the note in plain words, with Reset. Each tap is also counted for the advisor who answered, without your name.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- The sources you trust mostOn Your newsletters and notes, tap Trust most beside a newsletter or note you shared. Your advisors weigh the ones you trust most before the rest, and when an answer uses one, it names it.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Jump to a sectionOn North Star, Settings and Your newsletters and notes, a row at the top takes you to any section in one tap and stays in view as you scroll. Each North Star section shows its first five lines, with Show all for the rest. On Your newsletters and notes you can show only the files one advisor has.Plans: Paper, Ink, Brass.
- Check-ins on your iPhoneIn the Advicity iPhone app, when you pick a check-in date, Advicity asks whether to remind you on your phone. If you allow notifications, your check-ins come to your iPhone instead of by email, never both: if a notification cannot reach your iPhone, the email comes instead, and if a check-in is still unanswered two days after the notification, one email reminds you. Choose By email or On this iPhone in Settings at any time, and your choice is what we use.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Share your decision recordAfter 3 check-ins, you can make a card of your own numbers to share: decisions saved, check-ins answered and how many went well, for this month, this year or all time. It never shows what you decided, what an advisor said, your North Star or anything you wrote, and your first name is on it only if you add it. You see the card first, and nothing is posted unless you share it or save the image yourself; you can turn the card off in Settings.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass, once you have answered 3 check-ins.
- Set a passwordSet a password in Settings to log in with your email and password, or keep logging in with a link we email you. To change it, enter your current password, or log in with an email link first. Forgot it? Choose "Forgot your password?" on Log in.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- A safety check on every answerBefore an answer is shown, a second quick read checks that it stays inside what your board can help with: no pick of a specific stock, fund or coin to buy or sell, and no personal legal, tax or medical instructions. When your question shows that you or someone else may be in danger, the answer includes the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and 911. The check keeps only counts, never your question or the answer.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Two-step sign-inTurn on two-step sign-in in Settings, and logging in also asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. You get 10 backup codes, each works once, in case you lose your phone. It is optional, and it never comes before your first question.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Log in with Face IDAdd a passkey in Settings, then choose "Log in with Face ID" on Log in instead of waiting for an email link. It works with Face ID, Touch ID or your phone's lock, in the iPhone app and on the website. Your face or fingerprint never leaves your device.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Lock with Face IDIn the iPhone app, turn on "Lock with Face ID" in Settings, and Advicity asks for Face ID when you open it after more than 5 minutes away. The choice stays on your phone.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
- Ask my board, from your home screen and SiriIn the Advicity iPhone app, add the "Ask my board" widget to your home screen and one tap opens the question box. When a check-in is due, the widget says so, and tapping that line opens the check-in. You can also say "Ask my board in Advicity" to Siri, then your question, and it waits in the question box until you tap Ask; "Answer my check-in in Advicity" opens a check-in that is due.Plans: Paper, Charcoal, Ink, Brass.
Why this exists
Successful people don't make decisions alone. They have advisors. Now you can too: advisors who know your goals and draw on the sources you trust.
“I realized the greats are just normal people who learned to sequence their lives around their goals and filter out everything else.”
Your board does that sequencing and filtering with you: it knows your goals and points your next decision at what moves them.
