For business
Questions businesses ask.
Can my company or firm use Advicity today?
Yes, in two ways. A Board Room is live today: a shared board for people who decide together, such as business partners, each of whom keeps their own private board. And boards a company, a committee, a family or a firm owns are being built with our first firms and are offered by invitation. The business boards →
How do seats work?
Each person who asks a Board Room's board needs the Ink plan or the Brass plan: their own, or a seat the room's owner pays for. A viewer needs no plan. The Ink plan holds one Board Room and the Brass plan holds up to five.
Seats you pay for others are priced like tax bands: the first seats at the list price, seat 5 and up at 10% off, seat 10 and up at 20% off. Your own plan does not count as one of them.
How is it billed?
By card, through Stripe's secure checkout, monthly at the prices on the plans page, in US dollars. Seats you pay for others are added to your own bill. Card details go to Stripe, never to Advicity. A business board or a firm account is quoted with you, by board. See the plans →
Is there a contract, or a data processing agreement?
Today every member agrees to our Terms and our Privacy Policy. There is no separate business contract or data processing agreement yet. One is being drafted for our lawyer to review, and we will tell you when it is ready.
How do we get set up?
A Board Room takes a minute: a member on the Ink plan or the Brass plan creates it from Board Room in the menu and invites people by email. For a business board, we set it up with you: write to hello@getadvicity.com with how many boards, who they are for and where your data should live.
Who is the admin, and what can each person do?
A Board Room has three roles. The owner invites people, withdraws invitations, removes people and can hand the owner role to a member. A member can ask, save decisions and share notes. A viewer can read everything in the room but cannot change anything.
How do we add or remove people?
The owner invites by email address and picks member or viewer. Nobody joins without accepting the invitation, signed in with that email address. The owner can remove anyone, and anyone can leave. When the last paying member leaves, the room turns read-only and nothing is deleted.
What does an employee see, and can the company see their own board?
Everyone in a room sees the room's questions, answers and decisions. Nobody sees anyone's own board: not the room's owner, not the company, not the firm. A seat you pay for shows you the person's email address, the seat's plan and its price, never anything on their board.
Can we export our data?
Yes. Any member can download everything on their boards as one file, at any time, from Settings in their account. It always works, on every plan.
What happens if we cancel?
A plan runs to the end of the period paid for, then the board moves to the free Paper plan. Nothing is deleted. To delete everything instead, a member deletes their account from their settings; we erase it at once, and any copy in a backup goes within 30 days.
We are an advisory firm. Can we hold a board for each client?
That is being built with our first firms: one account holding a board for each client, your firm's own advisor, and each client's board kept private. It is offered by invitation, priced with you. Advisory firms →
Can our data be stored in Switzerland?
Not yet. Today your data is stored in the United States. Swiss storage for your documents and backups is being set up as a paid option, and we will say here when it is ready.
